Hot Dogs and Beer Or a Five Course For Your Destination Beach Wedding

While planning your Florida destination beach wedding you need to make connections. Don't think about "hiring" a florist, a caterer or a photographer, that's old school! Instead think of making new friends. Once you get everyone on the same page your enthusiasm will rub off on them and they'll become part of your core team.

One way to make sure your vision comes to life is to create a Facebook page where you layout the entire plan. Invite potential caterers, photographers, florists and decorators in your planned area of Florida to comment on the posted info. If they come up with an idea or two to enhance your day, you'll know they're the new friend for you.

When choosing a caterer "friend" it might even be a great idea to pick their brain first before constructing your plan too much. If they have experience with beach weddings chances are they'll know what will work the best. Why not leave it to the experts?

As with all weddings, price will depend on how fancy you get and the time of day you're planning to eat. Your new friend should be able to provide you with several options and prices that will work with your venue. Let them know exactly what's available at the site and they should be able to run with it. If they can't, find another caterer.

What would a wedding be without alcohol? To me, this was a very important aspect of the day. So much so that we gave flasks to the groomsmen, and they weren't full of lemonade!

If you have rented a house you're beverage options are virtually unlimited. A private home doesn't require a liquor license like a hall would so you can pretty well have at it. In addition, bringing in your own alcohol and hiring a professional bartender is a less-expensive way to imbibe than the hall option.

Hiring a professional will ensure that over-indulgence is kept to a minimum and that your guests are well taken care of. A pro will also pour real shots rather than "friend" shots which will help to keep the tab reasonable and ensure you don't run out.

If you want extras, like having champagne on the beach, you may have to look into local bylaws to make sure you're permitted to do so. To keep things simple, post-ceremony toasts should take place on private property.

If you have any questions about the legalities of your wedding, the best place to check is with the clerk at the local office of the Florida District Court. It will only take you a few minutes but could save you a world of hassle on the big day!

Food and alcohol can make or break any wedding day. It doesn't have to be extravagant to be memorable so make sure you get as much advice from the pros as they're willing to give and don't forget to include foods you like!
